Head of Destiny

Head of Destiny is a schizophrenic musical organism from downtown Los Angeles. Formed in 2004 as a sonic reaction to unpleasant surroundings and circumstances, their music is composed as a coping mechanism to deal with the frivolity, insubstantiality, and mundanity that most of us face on a daily basis. Ruthlessly mashing together disparate angles and textures of rock and roll on their self-titled (also self-recorded and self-released in June 2007) debut, the band covers a diverse spectrum of heaviness and intensity with disregard for established convention. The album’s ten tracks form an abstract dissertation on the diseased, gangrenous state of the Modern American Soul. Mixed by acclaimed audio engineer Ronan Chris Murphy (King Crimson, Ulver) it has been warmly received by those who have heard it and felt its relevance.

Thus far, Head of Destiny has for the most part been a lone venture into the musical wilderness. Currently pursuing their mission without assistance, Head of Destiny are in the midst of a difficult campaign to free hearts and minds from musical mediocrity.
